ESSEX -- Clarence Richard "Syl" McMullin, 75, of Essex died Monday, Oct. 26, 1998, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Essex, son of Syl Vester and Addie Swan McMullin. He and June Mozell Alberson were married Oct. 7, 1946, in Piggott, Ark.
McMullin lived in Essex all his life. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with the W.S. McMullin Asphalt Co. in Sikeston.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lynn and Glenn McMullin of Essex; a daughter, June Clay of Essex; a brother, Wilson McMullin of Sikeston; a sister, Edith Martin of Ontario, Canada; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Hill officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery.
