JACKSON -- Clarence Luther Crites, 94, of Jackson died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1992, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Oct. 7, 1898, at Bollinger County, the son of Jacob F. and Minnie Drum Crites. On Dec. 25, 1916, he married Sarah A. Smith, who preceded him in death April 15, 1966. He then married Marie Thurman in 1975. She survives of the home.
He lived and farmed in the Oak Ridge area for many years, and was the Jackson parks supervisor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.
Survivors include a son, Dewey Crites of Manchester; three daughters, Audrey Reihn of Hemet, Calif., Ruby Leatherman of Kirkwood and Allyne Bodenstein of Jackson; a sister, Alma Piercy of Forest City, Ark.; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great, great-grandchildren.
A son, three brothers, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel in Jackson, where funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Jeff Mellita will officiate, and burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
