COBDEN, Ill. -- Clarence L. "Junior" Fletcher, 75, of Murphysboro, Ill., formerly of Cobden, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro.
He was born March 28, 1930, in St. Louis, son of Clarence L. and Margaret "Maggie" Jobe Fletcher. He and Kazuyo "Mickey" Okamoto were married Aug. 17, 1951, in Kobe, Japan.
The Fletchers owned and operated Lakeland Market many years until he retired in 1991.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Fletcher of Littleton, Colo., Carl Fletcher of Murphysboro, Martin Fletcher of Carbondale, Ill.; a daughter, Sally Ramsey of Jonesboro, Ill.; six grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a grandson and a brother.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden from 11 a.m. Monday to service time.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Ruby Popejoy officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery, with full military honors by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
