TAMMS, Ill. -- Clarence A. Fitzgerald, 81, of Thebes, Ill., formerly of Tamms, Ill., died Sunday, June 6, 1993, at his residence.
He was born April 14, 1912, at Alexander County, Ill., son of Anderson and Grace Manwarning Fitzgerald.
He was married to Pansy Kirby.
Fitzgerald was a retired auto mechanic of the Fitzgerald Garage in Mounds, Ill.
He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church, where he served as church treasurer for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Clarence S. Fitzgerald of Mounds, Ill.; two stepsons, Elvis Kirby of Thebes, Ill., Lee Kirby of Thebes, Ill.; two daughters, Doris Everett of Tullahoma, Tenn., Ellen Barnes of Sarasota, Fla.; a step-daughter, Hester Williams of McClure, Ill.; a sister, Grace Jones of St. Louis; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Flora Fitzgerald in 1986; and a granddaughter.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at the Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 Wednesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., with the Rev. Robert Feezor and the Rev. Kenny Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
