PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Funeral for Clarence Allen "Abe" Bivens of Perryville will be held at 2 p.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Art Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in Home Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Bivens, 55, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at St. Louis University Hospital.
He was born June 5, 1946, at Caruthersville, Mo., son of Clarence Adam and Mildred Lorene Davis Bivens. He and Janeen Shrum were married March 17, 1980.
Bivens was a mixer at Gilster-Mary Lee Corp.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife of Bloomfield, Mo.; two sons, Brian Bivens of Hayti, Mo., Benjamin Bivens of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Katherine Bivens of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; three brothers, Joe Bivens of Murphysboro, Mo., Bill Bivens of Caruthersville, George Bivens of Alabama; two half sisters, Betty Cassidy of Foley, Mo., Betty Bivens of Illinois; and a half brother, Jack Bivens of Sparta, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a half brother, and three half sisters.
