Clara Vetter

NEW HAMBURG, Mo. -- Clara H. Vetter, 83, of New Hamburg died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at the Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 9, 1919, in New Hamburg, daughter of Lawrence and Katherine Scherer Bucher. She and Ralph G. Vetter were married Jan. 16, 1943. He died Sept. 16, 1980.

She was a retired utility worker with Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee, Mo., and a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church and St. Ann Sodality in New Hamburg.

Survivors include: two sons, Bob Vetter of Scott City, Mo., and Randy Vetter of New Hamburg; a daughter, Betty Langston of Jackson, Mo.; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. A Knights of Columbus prayer service will follow at 7:15 p.m.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in New Hamburg.
