Clara Macke

LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Clara "Sis" Macke, 96, of Leopold passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022.

She was born Oct 18, 1925, in Glennon, Missouri, daughter of Robert and Clara Jansen. She married Lawrence Macke on Jan. 23, 1946.

Clara's first loves were Jesus and her family. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold.

She is survived by her children, Jeanne Greene, Marilyn (Mike) Jansen, Monica and Pauline Macke, Janie Macke and Gerard (Eleanor) Macke; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Arnold (Mary) Jansen; two sisters, Rose Macke and Sister Mary Jane Jansen; and brother-in-law, Marvin Surface.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Ralph and Harold; son-in-law, Roy Greene; grandchild, Craig Jansen; and great-grandchild, Jessica Jones. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jansen, and sisters, Adeline VandeVen, Dorothy Hinkebein, Agnes Broshuis, Loretta Blattel and Nettie Thele.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold, with burial in the church cemetery.
