JACKSON -- Funeral service for Clara Mae Oster of Granite City, Ill., formerly of Jackson, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Mitchell Presbyterian Church in Mitchell, Ill. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Edwardsville, Ill.
Irwin Chapel in Granite City is in charge of arrangements.
Oster, 82, died Saturday, April 9, 1994.
She was born March 29, 1912, daughter of Henry and Iva Fischer James. She married Felix V. Oster, who preceded her in death.
Oster worked in the cafeteria of Granite City Public Schools many years. She was a member of Mitchell Presbyterian Church and its quilting club, and member of Order of Eastern Star 91 in Jackson.
Survivors include a son, Richard Oster of Granite City; a daughter, Ruth Williams of Granite City; a brother, Milton James of Jackson; two sisters, Mabel Hofstedler of St. Louis, Lyla Bangert of Jackson; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
