CAIRO, Ill. -- Clara Mae Kerley, 83, of Cairo, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1995, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
She was born June 11, 1912, in Ballard County, Ky., daughter of Stirling and Laura Dyke Apperson. She married Elmer Kerley.
Kerley was a cook more than 20 years at the former St. Mary's Hospital in Cairo. She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Paducah, and attended its mission church in Cairo.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Virgie Hite of Paducah, Laura Johnson of Cairo, Glenda Hendricks of Mounds; two sisters, Carmen Dowdy of Paducah, Elma Crews of Mayfield, Ky.; seven grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael R. Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Barlow Cemetery at Barlow, Ky.
