Clara May Kirtley, 79, 1506 Perryville Road, died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at Jackson Manor in Jackson.
She was born June 16, 1917, in Vanderburgh County, Ind., daughter of Charles and Carrie M. Halwes Bosse. She and Paul William Kirtley were married Aug. 27, 1939, in Evansville, Ind. He died May 2, 1962.
Kirtley had lived in Cape Girardeau 51 years. She had been district manager of Schiff's Shoe Store and a salesclerk at P.N. Hirsch. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and Order of Eastern Star 167.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Kirtley of St. Louis and Bradley Kirtley of Clarksville, Tenn.; two daughters, Karen Baugher of Cape Girardeau and Paula Dunehew of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Carl Bosse of Chicago and Raymond Bosse of Rushville, Ind.; two sisters, Lillian Schulze of Evansville, Ind., and Geneva Duncan of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Park, with the Rev. James Caughlan officiating.
There is no visitation.
