CLARA HECHT

ALTENBURG -- Clara Sophia Hecht, 95, formerly of Altenburg, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1996, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 12, 1901, in Jacob, Ill., daughter of John and Anna Luedemann Weseloh. She and Martin Benjamin Hecht were married Feb. 27, 1922. He died Oct. 22, 1966.

Hecht was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, and Senior Citizens.

Survivors include four sons, Raymond Hecht of Shawneetown, Milton and Elmer Hecht of Altenburg, Richard Hecht of St. Charles; two daughters, Leona Mangels of Jackson, Florence Gruenwald of Altenburg; 30 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, two sons, five sisters, a brother, and three grandsons.

Friends may call at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg from 5-9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30-8 a.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Church, with the Rev. Willard Kassulke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
