Clara Mae Gramlisch, 84, peacefully passed away at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at her home in Delta, surrounded by her loving family.
The eighth child of Robert and Sophie Meyers Driskell, Clara was born Oct. 23, 1934, in Perkins, Missouri. She lived all her life in the Delta and Chaffee, Missouri, area.
On a dare after their first blind date, Clara married Billy Gene Gramlisch, who survives of the home, on June 19, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas. They shared an amazing love story for nearly 67 years.
There are not enough words to explain the love Clara had for her family. She always said she was a lucky woman to have them all in her life daily. She was loving, caring and nurturing to everyone who walked in her home.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Mark) Perry of Delta; three grandsons, Jim (Carla) Perry, Travis (Jayme) Perry and Eric (Kathy) Perry, all of Delta; five great-grandchildren, Brittney (Cody) Mayfield, Blake Perry (Natalie Kindle), Megan Perry (Auston Kirkpatrick), Jeremy Perry (Cooper Simpson) and Triston Perry (Dailey Bond); and three great-great-grandchildren, Jaci Mayfield, Briar Kirkpatrick and Kyson Mayfield. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by all of her siblings, five sisters, Nevada Roseberry, Artie Harris, Iva Scally, Mildred Hunsaker and Frances Driskell; three brothers, Isaac, Truman and Charles Driskell; and a granddaughter, Cinda.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery in Perkins.
