ST. LOUIS -- Clara A. Scott, 86, of St. Louis, and formerly of Mississippi County, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital.
She was born Aug. 16, 1912, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Gus and Annie Leible.
She married John Scott, who preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1981.
She had lived in St. Louis for a number of years and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Survivors include eight sons, state Sen. John Scott, Charles Scott, Pete Scott, David Scott, Michael Scott and Mark Scott, all of St. Louis, Delbert Scott of South Beloit, Ill., and Robert Scott of Anaheim, Calif.; four daughters, Mary Pike of Charleston, Martha Switzer of Cuba, Judy Long of St. Louis and Janet Stockman of Waynesville; one brother, Henry Leible of Sikeston; two sisters, Alberta Criss of Cape Girardeau and Ann Damron of Kevil, Ky.; 41 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Two daughters preceded her in death.
Visitation will from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston with prayer service at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Henry's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
