ST. LOUIS — Cynthia "Cindi" Norris, 63, of St. Louis passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, with her children by her side.
She was born Sept. 23, 1958, in Cape Girardeau to Arthur J. and Cecelia I. Borchelt Bender.
She is survived by her children, Jessica Norris, Kelsey Norris and Chris Salmon; siblings, Tim (Anna) Bender, Linda (Marty) Fowler and Steven Bender; plus her nephews and nieces, Corey (Maggie Neumiller) Fowler, Hayden Fowler and Catlin Bender -- all of whom she loved greatly.
Cindi loved adventure and the outdoors. In her life, she earned her private pilot's license, skydived more than 50 times and constantly sought new hikes and trails to get lost on. She always found beauty in every setting, was an avid nature photographer and loved to share her passion by leading hiking groups.
Cindi also had a kind and charitable heart. She was a foster for Gateway Pet Guardians in East St. Louis, Illinois, participated in animal transport for rescues, and was a passionate volunteer for Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis.
Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the cemetery.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family suggests making donations in memory of Cindi to St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness (SLOCA) organization at www.sloca.org, or Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum at www.bellefontainecemetery.org/giving/membership.
