ORAN, Mo. — Christopher "Chris" Charles McCann, son of Charles and Annette Childers McCann, was born July 27, 1984, in Charleston, Missouri, and departed his life Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 38.

Chris was of the Catholic faith and was baptized at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Benton, Missouri. He was a truck driver for McDonald Concrete Co.

On Sept. 27, 2014, he married Julie Eftink at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran. She survives.

Apart from his wife, he is survived by his mother, Annette McCann of Morley, Missouri; three sisters, Angela (Matt) Schabbing of Shawneetown, Trecia Taylor of Sikeston, Missouri, and Laurel (Larry) Mooneyhan of Spring Hills, Florida; uncle, Narvel (Rhonda) Childers of Morley; three nephews, Hunter McCann, Logan McCann and Adam (Jenny) Taylor; niece, Kayci (Justin) Kinsey; and mother-in-law, Janet Eftink of Oran.

Along with his father, Chris was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, two nieces, a brother-in-law and his father-in-law, Larry Eftink.

Memorial visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

Memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joseph Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
