Christopher David Josephs, 33, of Scott City died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at his home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1980, in Detroit, to Barry and Virginia May Prass Josephs.
He graduated in 1999 from Scott City High School. He was involved in Future Business Leaders of America and played alto saxophone in the school band. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2009. He was very active in the professional fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In 2008, he went to the University of Tennessee in Memphis for a master's degree in Health Administration. He had worked at the VA in Memphis and he was currently working at AISIN Manufacturing in Illinois as a cost specialist.
He is survived by his mother of Scott City; his maternal grandmother, Claire Prass, of Scott City; four uncles, Chuck Hoover of Scott City, Bill Prass of San Mateo, Calif., Jim Prass of Brentwood, Calif., and Brian Josephs of Pompton Plains, N.J.; and two aunts, Frances (Harmon) Presswood of Scott City and Shelly (Jim) Ichinco of Pompton Plains.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandfather, William Prass.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Scott City.
