EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Christopher Lee Johnson, 26, of East Prairie died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born Dec. 20, 1975, in Charleston, Mo., son of Jimmy Fenton and Barbara Sue Floyd Johnson. He and Susan Elizabeth Wallace were married July 19, 1997.
Johnson lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a 1995 graduate of East Prairie High School, where he was a first team all state running back, first team all district offense and defense, first team all conference offense and defense, and was the Southeast Missouri Conference leading scorer for the 1994 East Prairie football team.
He graduated from the Southeast Missouri Police Academy in Cape Girardeau in 2001. He was a police officer at East Prairie, and attended First Church of God.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Autumn Johnson of the home; his parents of Sikeston; and a brother, Steven Dunn of Wichita, Kan.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rob Kespelher and Randy Lemmons officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
