CANALOU -- Christine Powell, 76, of Canalou died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1992, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.

She was born Oct. 28, 1915 in Canalou, daughter of Charles and Bessie Deems McCullom.

She was employed as a teachers at the Canalou Elementary School.

She is survived by one daughter, Marian Herzinger, Barnhart; two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mike Cartwright, of the Assembly of God Church in Canalou. Burial will follow at Matthews Community Cemetery in Matthews.
