CHRISTINE HAERTLING

JACKSON -- Christine L. Haertling, 92, of Jackson died Thursday, Oct. 18, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 4, 1904, at Kurreville, daughter of Louis and Wilhelmina Haupt Schmidt. She and Leo J. Haertling were married Feb. 22, 1930, at Gordonville. He died June 26, 1987.

Haertling was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Heise of Cape Girardeau; a son, Harold Haertling of Chula Vista, Calif.; four sisters, Rosina Sandvoss of Cape Girardeau, Emma Bodenstein of Memphis, Tenn.; Lorene Rhyne and Minnie Bush of Jackson; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and a great-stepgranddaughter.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a granddaughter.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
