CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Christine Collins, 82, of Charleston died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at her home. She was born July 4, 1918, in Como, Miss., daughter of Gus Hollins and Minnie Blackmon. She was married to Cornelius Collins. He preceded her in death...

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Christine Collins, 82, of Charleston died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at her home.

She was born July 4, 1918, in Como, Miss., daughter of Gus Hollins and Minnie Blackmon.

She was married to Cornelius Collins. He preceded her in death.

She had lived in Missouri since 1957 and was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, Mo., and the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include two nieces whom she raised, Marie Duru Chika of Corona, Calif., and Bonnie Gibson of Buffalo, N.Y.; a great-nephew whom she raised, Christopher Blackmon of Moreno Valley, Calif.; and a great-niece whom she raised, Valrie Blackmon of Charleston.

She was preceded in death by a son, six brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Opportunity Church of God in Christ.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Steve Bettis officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.

Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
