BENTON -- Funeral service for Christina C. Diebold, formerly of Benton, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.
Fr. Oscar Lukefahr will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Diebold died Saturday at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center, where she had been a resident since January. She was 91.
She was born March 10, 1899 in Benton, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine Glasser Strack. On Oct. 14, 1919, she married Anton A. Diebold in Benton, who preceded her in death Nov. 15, 1976.
She was a member of the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and the church's St. Ann Sodality.
Survivors include three sons, Walter E. Diebold of Cape Girardeau, Anthony W. Diebold of Ferguson and Leonard "Buck" Diebold of Shelbyville, Tenn.; four daughters, Virginia Essner of New Hamburg, Ida Mae Ford of Overland, and Christianna Brant and Mary Frances Harrison, both of St. Louis; a brother, Clemence Strack of Wood River, Ill.; two sisters, Stella Schmittzehe of Monroe, La. and Blandina Smith of Afton; 31 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and three great, great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two sons, Norbert and Claude Diebold, a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Benton, where a parish rosary will be said at 8 p.m.
