MALDEN, Mo. -- Christene House Mitchell, 83, of Malden died in an automobile accident Wednesday, April 30, 2003, on Interstate 55 south of Sikeston, Mo.
She was born Dec. 23, 1919, in Bear Creek, Ala., daughter of Arley L. and Helen Butler Woodham. She and Henry House were married Oct. 15, 1938, at Kennett, Mo. He died March 1, 1979.
Mitchell was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Dale House of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Franklin House of Gideon, Mo., Chuck House of Malden; two brothers, Jimmy Woodham of Qulin, Mo., Ralph Woodham of Flint, Mich.; four sisters, Odean Harper of Jackson, Helen Davis of Poplar Bluff, Syble Restack of St. Louis, Hazel Redmon of Wood River, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and two brothers.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Dale Rickman will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
