MORLEY, Mo. -- Christene Godwin, 72, of Morley died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, in the emergency room at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
She was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Hagarville, Ark., daughter of Joseph W. and Robbie Hutchins Mays. She and Glen Godwin were married July 17, 1953, at Miner, Mo.
Godwin was program director 15 years with Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging in Sikeston and Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Terry Godwin of Jackson, Marty Godwin of Vanduser, Mo., Rick Godwin of DuQuoin, Ill.; three brothers, Bill Mays of Mount Morris, Mich., Don Mays of Fredericktown, Mo., Basil Mays of Englewood, Fla.; a sister, Lula Warren of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Jim Matthews and Rodney Davis officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery at Dogwood, Mo.
