Robert G. "Chic" Young, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 1996, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Jan. 5, 1907, son of Robert I. and Ada Elizabeth Kinder Young. He and Nada Ervin were married April 20, 1934, in Cape Girardeau.
Young was a truck driver with Midwest Dairy, and operated a bicycle shop at his home. He was a member of Third Street United Methodist Church.
He served in the U.S. Cavalry and U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jim Young of St. Louis, Tim Young of Cape Girardeau, John Young of St. Charles; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. S.S. Borum officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
