PUXICO -- Chester O. Snider, 75, of Puxico died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Lucy Lee Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Jan. 21, 1924, at Essex, son of Alvin Riley and Ada Grace Bridges Snider. He and Violet Marie Ridenour were married June 21, 1946, at Puxico.
Snider retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1974. He attended Life Chapel Assembly of God Church, and was a member of St. Louis Chapter of United Auto Workers.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John Snider of Pilot Point, Texas; two daughters, Regina Ray of Chicago, Lisa Payton of Puxico; an adopted daughter, Julia Intawiwat of Chicago; two brothers, Loyd Snider of Bloomfield and Fred Snider of Puxico.
Also surviving are three sisters, Freda Gyger and Sue Barnfield of Puxico, Dorothy Johnson of Riverside, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Dan Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico.
