Cheryl Denise Sides, 66, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Cheryl was born May 18, 1955, to Dale Penny and Patty "Pat" Hawkins Brooks. She and Terry Sides were married Nov. 16, 1974, at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.

Cheryl enjoyed camping, rides on the side-by-side and shopping. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and spending time with her family.

In addition to her loving husband of 47 years, Cheryl is survived by a son, Ryan (Brittany) Sides of Jackson; three grandchildren, Cameron, Autumn and Kylie Sides, all of Jackson; two brothers, Terry (Joyce) Penny of Jackson and David (Roxie) Penny of Cape Girardeau; three brothers-in-law, Lynn (Anita) Sides and Marcus Sides, both of Jackson, and David (Cindy) Sides of Burleson, Texas; five sisters-in-law, Donna (Leon) Aufdenberg of Burfordville, Geta (Steve) Parker, Gaye Smith and Brenda Sides, all of Jackson, and Nina (George) Dickerson of Millersville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was preceded in death by a son, Todd Sides; her parents; a brother, Allyn Penny; and two brothers-in-law, Gary and Stephen Sides.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Apple Creek Cemetery in Pocahontas.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Apple Creek Cemetery Fund or donor's choice.
