Cheryl Birk

Cheryl S. Birk, 50, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at her home.

She was born Aug. 28, 1958, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Delmar Lee and Opal E. Meier Hahn.

Birk was employed at Southeast Missouri Hospital and the Lutheran Home. She graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1976 and received CNA/CMT training at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her mother of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Heather Holdman of Jackson; Amber Brown and Andrea Bogenpohl, both of Oak Ridge; a son, Jamie Birk of Florissant, Mo.; a sister, Carole Groen of Chesterfield, Mo., and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
