DONGOLA, Ill. -- Chellis Osman, 72, of Manteno, died Sunday, April 4, 1993, in Manteno. He was born Sept. 18, 1920, in Union County, son of Roy and Ethel Beggs Osman. He and Reba Dunn were married Jan. 15, 1942. She died Nov. 24, 1987. Osman was a member of First Baptist Church and Manteno Legion Post 755. He was a veteran of World War II...

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Chellis Osman, 72, of Manteno, died Sunday, April 4, 1993, in Manteno.

He was born Sept. 18, 1920, in Union County, son of Roy and Ethel Beggs Osman. He and Reba Dunn were married Jan. 15, 1942. She died Nov. 24, 1987.

Osman was a member of First Baptist Church and Manteno Legion Post 755. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Deon Osman of Bloomington, Ind., Myras Osman of Flossmore; four brothers, Dallas Osman of Terre Haute, Ind., Donald and Harold Osman of Kankakee, Orwin of Bourbonnais; a sister, Bernetta Acuff of Dongola; two grandsons, and a great-granddaughter.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Friendship Cemetery near Dongola, with the Rev. Lowell West officiating.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
