Charlotte Metzger

ANNA, Ill. -- Charlotte L. Metzger, 73, of Anna died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at her home.

She was born Oct. 17, 1933, in Murphysboro, Ill., daughter of Herman Leon and Goldie Weathers Phillips. She and Maurice Metzger were married Aug. 14, 1954, in Anna. He died Jan. 16, 2001.

Metzger attended Sand Ridge Baptist Church and was a member of Anna Moose Lodge 1346 Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Victor Metzger of Anna, James Metzger of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Virginia Metzger of Anna; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Lemaster of Granite City, Ill., Peggy Williams of Palatine, Ill.; a sister, Loretta Mifflin of Sand Ridge, Ill.; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Andrew Mifflin officiating. Burial will be in Anna City Cemetery.
