SIKESTON -- Funeral for Charlotte Adams of Sikeston will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Dr. Jim Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Adams, 80, died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 24, 1918, at Parma, daughter of Solon T. and Pauline Meek Gee Sr. She and Dr. John R. Adams Sr. were married Sept. 18, 1942, at Fredericktown. He died April 30, 1985.
Adams was a graduate of Parma High School, and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She received a degree in home economics from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and received a master's degree in home economics from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
She taught home economics at Sikeston High School and at Southeast University. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II.
Survivors include a son, John Adams of Sikeston; three brothers, Donald Gee of Russellville, John Gee of Marianna, Fla., Bob Gee of Portageville; and a sister, Cathlyn Crouch of Morristown, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
