OAK RIDGE -- Charlie "Buster" Young, 96, of Oak Ridge died Friday, April 11, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 9, 1900, in Memphis, Tenn., son of Charlie and Jenny Parks Young Sr. He and Mable Evans were married May 12, 1940, in Memphis. She died Dec. 14, 1973.
Young was a self-employed truck driver and commercial fisherman in Memphis, and member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. He had lived in the area five years.
Survivors include a son, Charles Young of Memphis; a daughter, Bonnie Eulinberg of Oak Ridge; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Jerusalem Church, with the Rev. Gifton Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Monday at the church from 1 p.m. to service time.
