DEXTER, Mo. -- Charlie James Rimel, 75, of Dexter died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at his home.
The son of the late Jacob L. and Lucille McDowell Rimel, he was born March 6, 1939, in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Mr. Rimel was a retired lineman with Ameren. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dexter, active in United Methodist Men, past president of Dexter Lions Club and University of Missouri Agricultural Extension Council.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He and Judith Kay Evans were married Dec. 19, 1965, in Dexter.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Chris Rimel and wife Anna Jane of Acworth, Ga.; Kevin Rimel of Anna, Ill.; two grandchildren, Mae Esther Rimel and Gabriel William Rimel; two sisters, Minnie Rimel Davis of Poplar Bluff, Betty Rimel Harris and husband Ed of Ruston, La.; two brothers, Bob Rimel and wife Linda of Poplar Bluff, John Rimel of Wilmer, Ala.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Dexter.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Dexter.
