Charlie Meadows Luton, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born March 20, 1907, near Bandana, Ky., son of Nicholas Howard and Josephine Palmer Luton. He and Anna Ervin were married Aug. 6, 1932.
Formerly of Olmsted, Ill., he worked at Sinclair Refinery many years. He then operated a plumbing and well-drilling business, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Olmsted.
The Lutons lived in Bellview, Fla., from 1979-94.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carolyn Geittmann of Cape Girardeau; a son, Charles Luton of Harstine Island, Wash.; a sister, Goldie Larson of Albert Lea, Minn.; four grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, four brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Olmsted, with the Rev. Joey Dunning officiating. Burial will be in Cache Chapel Cemetery near Ullin, Ill.
Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until service time.
