ZALMA -- Charlie E. Carter, 78, of St. Louis, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1992, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Feb. 1, 1914, at Zalma, son of Mounce Edward and Lena Abernathy Carter. He and Myrtle Rea were married Oct. 6, 1934.
Carter was retired from General Motors.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Gene Carter of Bridgeton; three daughters, Geneva Kirkman of St. Louis, Hersheline Mueller of Fredericktown, Melba Minks of Horn Lake, Miss.; a brother, Claude Carter of Decatur, Ill.; a sister, Jewell Killian of Scott City; nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Liley Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. The Rev. Ron Carnett will officiate, with burial in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
