Charles Ward

Charles Buford "Pete" Ward, 61, of East Prairie, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born July 19, 1942, at East Prairie to Buford Ward and Maxine Anderson Ward Sherman. He and Vivian Pritchett were married June 7, 1963.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 28 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving four years.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Terry Ward of East Prairie; a sister, Linda Davis of Sikeston, Mo.; a brother, Claude Ward of Desoto, Mo.; and a granddaughter.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Friday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, with Dale Billingsley officiating.
