Charles Lynn Smith, 65, of Marceline, Mo., died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo.
He was born April 12, 1941, in Jackson, son of George and Nellie Schreiner Smith. He and the Rev. Nancy Jane Butler were married Oct. 11, 2003.
Smith had been a receiver at warehouses for SuperValu. He was a member of Teamsters Union, VFW, and member of United Methodist churches in Jackson and Marceline. He had lived in Marceline since 2003.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Tim and David Smith of Jackson, Steven Smith of Chaffee, Mo., Scott Smith of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Tami Holder of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Dean Smith of Chaffee, Mark Smith of St. Louis; three sisters, Kim Martin and Laura Smith of Jackson, Jean Ann Shephard of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a grandson.
Friends may call at Marceline United Methodist Church from noon to service time June 17.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. June 17 at the church, with the Revs. Michael Davis and Joanne Davis officiating. Military rites will be provided by Marceline VFW and American Legion.
Another visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to service time June 18 at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. June 18 at the church, with the Rev. John Rice officiating.
Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline is in charge of arrangements.
