FAIRDEALING, Mo. -- Charles Bural Samons, 82, of Fairdealing died Monday, July 8, 2002, at Three Rivers Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Supply, Ark., son of James and Lola Hayes Samons. He and Ann Marie Helms were married in August 1938. She died June 8, 1993.
Samons was employed by Drake Farms in Mississippi County 38 years. He moved to Fairdealing in 1990.
He was a member of Bridges United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Charles Samons Jr. of Bertrand, Mo.; four daughters, Maxine Bozeman of Fairdealing, Bessie Smith of Benton, Mo., Doris Davis of Kennett, Mo., Donna Carter of Charleston, Mo.; three sisters, Mural Clark of Lebanon, Mo., Daphane Brown of Tulsa, Okla., and Vernell Walker of Poplar Bluff.
Also surviving are six brothers, Danny Samons of San Rafael, Calif., Doyle Samons of Ann Arbor, Mich., Pete Samons of Grass Valley, Calif., Lester Samons of Vandalia, Ohio, Chester Samons of Branson, Mo., and Roy Samons of Lambertsville, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two great-grandsons.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Quist officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
