Charles Wayne Rhyne, 65, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 19, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late Herbert and Lola Phillips Rhyne. He and Terry Broege were married Nov. 10, 1996, in Cairo, Georgia.
Charles was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he and his brother, Roger, served side-by-side. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a member of numerous veterans organizations, including American Legion in Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff, VFW and Disabled American Veterans where he served as a representative. He was also a member of the Eagles Aerie in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; three children; two brothers, Roger Rhyne of Jackson, Jerry Phillips of Mississippi; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gale Rhyne; and two sisters, Delores Kennedy and Brenda Glissipie.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors.
