COLLEYVILLE, Texas -- Charles Lee Ponder, 55, of Colleyville, formerly of Charleston, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997, in Colleyville.
He was born May 7, 1942, in Charleston to P.J. and Evelyn Lankford Ponder Jr. Ponder had lived in Colleyville, where he served as president and chairman of the board of Ponder and Company, for a number of years. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of White's Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas.
He married the Rev. Jo Vowels. She survives in the home.
He is also survived by his parents of Sikeston; a son, Steven Ray Ponder of Herrin, Ill.; a daughter, Lori Moravec of Colleyville; two brothers, James Ponder and Phillip Ponder, both of Charleston; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call today from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Southlake. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at White's Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake. Burial will be at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Colleyville.
