MINER, Mo. -- Funeral for Charles Doyne Pearson of Miner will be at 2 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Mo. The Rev. Robert Burnes will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston, with full military rites conducted by Missouri Honors Program.

Friends may call at the chapel after 11:30 a.m.

Pearson, 61, was found dead Monday, June 24, 2002, at his home.

He was born April 29, 1941, in Center Ridge, Ark., son of Newton H. and Stella Pearl Shipp Pearson. He and Kyong Kim were married Jan. 6, 1967, at the Korean Embassy.

Pearson had been a civil service worker with Edgewood Aberdeen Proving Grounds.

He served more than 20 years in the U.S. Army.

Pearson came here three months ago from Abingdon, Md.

Survivors include his wife of Bel Air, Md.; two sons, James Kim of Bel Air, Charles Pearson of Abingdon; two daughters, Kattie Espinoza of Forest Hill, Md., Maurice Pearson of Bel Air; a brother, Carl Pearson of Sikeston; two sisters, Kathryn Bailey of Springfield, Mo., Linda Ray of Lyons, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
