SIKESTON -- Charles K. Patterson, 79, of St. Peters, formerly of Sikeston, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at his home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1918, at Malden, son of W.G. and Martha M. Lane Patterson. He and Mamie M. Farr were married Sept. 27, 1936.
Patterson was a retired bricklayer. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston and had served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher, and was a member of Bricklayers and Masons Union 23 in Cape Girardeau. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Patterson of Granite City, Ill., Hershel Patterson of Sikeston; a daughter, Phyllis Sitz of St. Peters; a brother, William Patterson of Conroe, Texas; a sister, Effie Hampton of Campbell; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today, and Saturday from noon to service time at First Assembly Church.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Milton Pool officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
