ADVANCE, Mo. -- Charles D. Partain, age 80, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Advance, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born April 20, 1937, in Bear Creek, Alabama, to the late William Acey "Jack" and Havel Faye Morrow Partain, he was a licensed embalmer and funeral director and a licensed pilot who in his career co-owned Spencer Funeral Homes in Salem, Viburnum and Bunker, Missouri, a flower shop in Mountain View, Missouri, and later Partain Furniture in Advance. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Advance.
On Sept. 25, 1958, in Vanduser, Missouri, he married Nadine Parks, who survives of the home in Cape Girardeau.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Charles Partain II of Advance; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Bob Olson of Fulton, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Robert Olson Jr., Charles Partain III and Julianne Rose Partain.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Missouri.
Friends also may call from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Advance.
Interment will follow in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
