CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for Charles P. Templeton, 321 S. West End Boulevard, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Templeton, 75 years old, died Thursday, April 11, 1991, at the Veterans Home.
He was born Jan. 16, 1916, at Fruitland, son of Walter and Ida Abernathy Templeton. He and the former Vergie Seabaugh were married Jan. 11, 1941, at Greenville.
Templeton was a lineman 32 years with Missouri Utilities and Union Electric. He played minor league baseball two years, was a golfer, played on the Capahas baseball team 23 years, and was a member of the Golden Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps.
He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, VFW, American Legion, and Colonial Senior Citizens. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a past commander of American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Loretta Templeton of Cape; a sister, Mrs. Clifton Bell of Kansas City; two grandchildren, Suzanne and David Templeton of Cape.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Drew.
