JONESBORO, Ill. -- Charles Ray "Charlie" Murray, 67, of Jonesboro died Friday, May 30, 2008, at his home.
He was born May 28, 1941, in Cobden, Ill., son of Willie and Geraldine Burnett Murray. He and Carolyn Harris were married Dec. 19, 1962, in Anna, Ill.
Murray was a laborer and a member of the Nazarene Church in Anna.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tim and Shane Murray of Anna; a daughter, Julie Akers of Jonesboro; four brothers, Bill Murray of Alto Pass, Ill., Don, Frankie and Bobby Murray, all of Anna; four sisters, Laverne Highland of Dyer, Ind., Betty Stegle of Anna, Dorothy Burgess of Marion, Ill., Bertie Green of Birmingham, Ala.; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Keeley officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
