MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Funeral for Charles William Moore of Matthews will be at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Mo. The Rev. William F. "Bill" Koch will officiate. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.

Moore, 75, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at his home.

He was born March 18, 1927, in Sikeston, son of Lloyd Franklin "Bud" and Audrey Jordan Moore. He and Mary Elizabeth Weiderman were married Dec. 14, 1948. She died May 12, 1958. He and Marie Pope were married in January 1959. She died Sept. 28, 1984.

Moore retired as a teacher from Sikeston Public Schools.

He was a medical sergeant with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include a son, William "Bill" Moore of Kewanee, Mo.; a daughter, Barbara Summerlot of East Prairie, Mo.; two stepsons, Larry Pope of East Prairie, Ronald Pope of Fort Meyers, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Charlene Bradham of Alexander, Ark., Jane Viets of Charleston, Mo.; three sisters, Mary Daugherty of Sikeston, Betty Williams and Sue Harrell of East Prairie; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
