NEW HAMBURG -- Charles Lawrence Steimle, 77, of New Hamburg, died Friday, Nov. 20, 1992 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 27, 1915 in New Hamburg, son of Frank Joseph and Mary Bertha Gosche Steimle.
On Oct. 25, 1941, he married the former Clara L. Weissmueller in Kelso. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry Steimle of Wappapello, Marvin Steimle, Pacific; two sisters, Clara F. Steimle, New Hamburg, Bertilla Schlosser, Chaffee; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Six brothers preceded him in death.
He was a retired mill operator with Lone Star Industries of Cape girardeau. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg and the VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call today at 2 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Benton. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg with the Rev. Amel Shibley officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with graveside military rites by VFW Post 3838 of Cape Girardeau.
