NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Charles Edward LaValle Jr., 75, of New Madrid died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the home of a daughter in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 19, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, to Charles Edward and Laura Riley LaValle. He is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Ella Broughton LaValle; four children, Kaki LaValle Beasley (Donny), Matt LaValle (Emily), Ed LaValle (Becky), Caroline LaValle Holiman (Jay), all of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Devin, Peyton, Caroline, Christopher, Chase, Savannah and Everton; four siblings, Virginia Carlson, Bob LaValle, Kathleen Deegan and Mark LaValle.. ...

He was born July 19, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, to Charles Edward and Laura Riley LaValle.

He is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Ella Broughton LaValle; four children, Kaki LaValle Beasley (Donny), Matt LaValle (Emily), Ed LaValle (Becky), Caroline LaValle Holiman (Jay), all of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Devin, Peyton, Caroline, Christopher, Chase, Savannah and Everton; four siblings, Virginia Carlson, Bob LaValle, Kathleen Deegan and Mark LaValle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill.

Charles attended Chaminade Preparatory High School and St. Louis University. He earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing from the University of Missouri in 1958. Charles was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in New Madrid.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. Jarek Skrzypek officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be George Broughton, Tommy Broughton, Bud Hennry, Jimmy Cravens, Russell Krebs and R.D. James.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Eftink, Dick Phillips, Dick Twitty, Steve Riley, Robert Riley Jr. and Joe Drake.

Richards Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception School or New Madrid Historical Museum.
