MOUNDS, Ill. -- Service for Charles L. Wibel will be held at Crain Funeral Home here Thursday at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens near Villa Ridge.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Wibel, 94 years old, of Mounds, died Monday, March 18, 1991 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was a retired Illinois Central Railroad engineer. He was a Navy submariner during World War I. He was a member of VFW Post 8891 at Mounds, and attended the Mounds United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie, in January of 1988.

He is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
