EAST PRAIRIE -- Charles L. Myers, 79, of East Prairie died Saturday, May 17, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 17, 1917, near East Prairie, the son of Charles and Bertha Vineyard Myers. He married Opal Wilburn on April 25, 1946. She survives.
He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Mississippi County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in East Prairie.
Survivors include a son, Steve Myers of East Prairie and a sister, Bernice Goyins of St. Louis, and one granddaughter.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie.
Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the chapel with Bro. Larry Smith and Bro. Jim Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Dogwood Cemetery in East Prairie.
