SIKESTON - Charles K. Douglas, 71, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Sikeston, died Friday, June 28, 1991, at the University Medical Center in Columbia. He was born May 27, 1920, in Wickliffe, Ky., to the late Charlie and Hazel Douglas. He had been a truck driver for Terrell Lime and Fertilizer Co. of Sikeston and member of First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II...

SIKESTON - Charles K. Douglas, 71, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Sikeston, died Friday, June 28, 1991, at the University Medical Center in Columbia.

He was born May 27, 1920, in Wickliffe, Ky., to the late Charlie and Hazel Douglas. He had been a truck driver for Terrell Lime and Fertilizer Co. of Sikeston and member of First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

On March 16, 1946, in Wickliffe, he married Faye Jeannette Wells. She survives.

Also surviving are: two sons, Kenny Douglas of Sikeston and Gary Douglas of Norton Air Force Base in California; four daughters, Pat Hosey and Charlotte Tidwell of Sikeston, Rita Cooksey of Poplar Bluff, and Sarah Woffer of St. Louis; four brothers, Bob Douglas of Barlow, Ky., J.W. Douglas of Joplin, Paul Douglas of Granite City, Ill., Leroy Douglas of Detroit; two sisters, Margaret Johnston of Paducah, Ky., and Mildred Johnson of Rock Hill, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Services will be Monday in the chapel at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Milton Pool, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
